Cowboys Receive Encouraging Message From Russell Wilson as Dak Prescott Eyes Division Title

The Dallas Cowboys may be dealing with a frustrating season; however, Russell Wilson believes that Dak Prescott and his teammates still have a golden opportunity to take control of the NFC East. Despite the setbacks, the Cowboys have the offensive firepower to make a serious push, especially with Prescott leading the charge. Wilson’s confidence in the Cowboys offers a timely reminder that the division race could still swing in their favor.

However, turning that belief into results will require more than bold predictions. With the Cowboys searching for consistency and its playoff hopes hanging in the balance, Prescott now faces a crucial stretch that could define the team’s season.

On October 25, as highlighted by NFL on CBS, Wilson delivered a confident assessment of the Cowboys’ chances in the NFC East. The former Super Bowl-winning quarterback backed Prescott to capitalize on the division’s struggles and suggested the Cowboys should view the opportunity as theirs to seize.

“If I’m the Dallas Cowboys, if I’m Dak Prescott, I’m licking my chops right now. This division is mine.”

Wilson’s comments carry extra weight given the Cowboys’ inconsistent start to the season. They entered the campaign with high expectations; however, they struggled to build momentum, leaving them under pressure to turn their fortunes around. Still, the former NFL QB sees a division race that remains open rather than one that has already slipped away.

The Cowboys signal-caller has reasons to believe he can lead that turnaround. Before Dallas’ trip to Brazil to face the Baltimore Ravens, he delivered an impressive performance against the Washington Commanders, completing 26 of 31 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns. That showing highlighted the Cowboys’ offensive potential and explained why Wilson expected another explosive outing.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, the matchup against the Ravens didn’t unfold as Wilson anticipated. The Ravens escaped with a dramatic 34-31 victory, despite Prescott keeping the Cowboys competitive throughout. He finished with 276 passing yards and one touchdown, falling short of the three-touchdown performance Wilson had envisioned.

This defeat highlighted the struggles of the Cowboys’ defense, too, as Lamar Jackson racked up 119 yards rushing and two touchdowns, adding constant pressure to a unit that has had issues containing mobile quarterbacks. In the end, Baltimore ended up winning the game thanks to Tyler Loop making a 56-yard field goal with no time left on the clock.

Nonetheless, the point Wilson made still stands. Dallas can’t afford to be thinking about another close defeat with their division title still up for grabs. Prescott and their head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, need to figure out how to improve on offense while also helping their defense play better.

Dallas can compete, but there is little room for error at this point.
