David Moyes and Dan Friedkin side-by-side, with Hill Dickinson Stadium behind them
David Moyes and Dan Friedkin side-by-side, with Hill Dickinson Stadium behind them
Supported by most within the stands at Hill Dickinson Stadium, he still isn't pulling up trees with his work.
The Friedkin Group admitted their disappointment, through Angus Kinnear, at failing to qualify for Europe last season.
Moyes wasn't having it, and there's a very clear feeling that not everybody is on the same page.
After an average start to the season in blue, questions are starting to be asked at all levels, including Moyes.
But after being left out to dry, is there anything he could do?
David Moyes contract is elephant in the room
It's no secret that he is well into the final season of his contract.
Having been appointed weeks after the arrival of the Friedkin Group to replace Sean Dyche, the two-and-a-half year deal is running out.
And in the eyes of the Americans, he clearly hasn't done enough.
Yes, Moyes has steered Everton away from consistent relegation danger, but he's failed to make that next step to being in that European conversation every year.
He'd argue that it's the work of those above him that is halting any chance of that, rather than his management.
How much is David Moyes' contract worth?
In short, Moyes will have earned £12.5million from his contract.
Given that he started midway through one season, that's at least £5m-per-year, which is a huge amount.
Has that investment been worth it?
With the Friedkins selling up and any takeover possibly costing up to £1billion, new owners will be immediately looking at the manager.
If they look back and see the recent work by Moyes, would they be happy and look to continue this relationship? Or would they want to use that money elsewhere and possibly increase the wage again for a so-called bigger name?
Given the time constraints around his current contract, Moyes will be the first thing any new owner looks at, if they get through the doors before the end of the season.
Of course, big-name players like Jack Grealish have been signed for Moyes, but he could easily argue that the lack of investment elsewhere has hindered him massively.
That's up to any new owner to decide, but we could be looking at total change before the season is even up.
