Michael DellNorges Bank Investment Management podcast
**The Dell family have emerged as possible new owners for [Everton](/club/everton-fc), but it is not the first time they have been linked.**
The Friedkin Group are looking to be bought out of their investment in the Toffees, with the Merseyside club now up for sale.
Dan Friedkin has come under fire over the last few months for how he has run the Premier League side.
And supporters would certainly welcome a new face leading the future of the L3 outfit.
The Dell family, with Michael Dell as the patriarch, are one of the richest in America, with Michael estimated to be worth £196.44billion.
Interest from the mega-billionaire certainly does come as a surprise, especially when you revisit his stance from 2024.
As we are well aware, the Friedkin Group ultimately won the takeover race back in 2024.
However, Dell was reportedly in the mix as well.
But those suggestions appeared to be wide of the mark at the time, with it emerging that he had no interest in owning any sports team.
Matt Slater, who writes for The Athletic stated on The Toffees Blue podcast back in 2024 stated: "Michael Dell has absolutely no interest in owning sports teams.
"They are a private equity firm, and there is a lot of Dell money in there, but Michael Dell is not pouring over what they do, he's not directing them and they have for the last few years among other things really got into lending money to English football clubs.
Instead, Dell did back Andy Bell and George Downing in their attempt to take over the Blues.
However, now two years on, reports of [Dell's interest in owning Everton](https://www.goodisonnews.com/finance/wealthy-us-family-consider-1bn-everton-takeover-chase-in-bid-to-take-on-liverpool-for-merseyside-supremacy) have seemingly suggested a change of mind.
When the Dell family previously explored Everton in 2024, the club was in a period of significant financial uncertainty under Farhad Moshiri.
But now, the Toffees are in a much healthier position.
With all the concerns over the Friedkins' investment in the Merseyside outfit, one thing cannot be taken away from them.
They have put Everton in a better position to succeed in the future.
Everton's new stadium also offers more revenue potential, making it a completely different landscape than before.
