Clubs that identify a promising young striker early often continue to track his progress even after an initial approach does not result in a move. Those situations can become more relevant when the player produces strong numbers in European competition and the selling club indicates he is unlikely to leave in the winter window. Supporters tend to take note when a target remains on the radar heading into the following summer.
The player in question has already scored against Premier League opposition this season and has been prolific for both his club and his national under-21 side. His contract runs for several more years, which gives the current club leverage if multiple sides remain interested. Any formal discussions are more likely to wait until the next close-season rather than the January market.
Arsenal are seriously interested in signing Nicolo Tresoldi from Club Brugge, according to a report from Germany. Sky Sports in Germany report that the Gunners are seriously interested in the Club Brugge striker, having had the player on their radar last summer and continuing to monitor his development. A January transfer is currently considered unlikely, as those close to the player do not expect him to move in the winter window. The topic is expected to resurface as the summer approaches.
Sky add that Arsenal are not the only club in the mix. Multiple top clubs are reportedly monitoring the situation, with Tresoldi under contract until 2029. Arsenal were linked with the forward earlier this year and were touted as one of three clubs pushing to sign him over the summer. Club Brugge felt that he should stay for at least one more season, and Tresoldi did not push them to change their minds.

Even before the summer, Christian Falk reported in April that the Gunners were seriously interested and the favourites to make the signing. Arsenal went on to sign Christos Tzolis from the same club, and the winger had made a strong start to life in north London before his injury over the international break. That previous deal from Brugge provides a recent connection between the two clubs.
As for how Tresoldi’s season is going, the striker has 12 goals in 14 games, including four in three matches in the Champions League. One of those was against Premier League opposition in Aston Villa. Tresoldi also plays for the Germany under-21s, for whom he has 16 goals in 27 matches. He scored four in three for the under-21 national side over the September-October break.
The young striker appears to have a big future, but it looks like Arsenal will have to wait to make their move for him. The combination of his current form and the long-term contract means any deal would require agreement from all parties. Arsenal’s continued monitoring suggests the 22-year-old remains a name of interest as the club assesses its forward options for the longer term.
