Premier League Champions Arsenal turn their attention to the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night when they face League One side Fleetwood Town in the fourth round.

The Gunners have started the new campaign strongly on all fronts, with their only loss being a shock 3-0 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League prior to the recent international break.

Mikel Arteta’s side currently sit second in the top flight table, but they are level on points with leaders Manchester City.

Ahead of their trip to Fleetwood, it appears that one member of Arteta’s squad could be in line to get a new contract.

As per Football Insider, the north London club are set to reward goalkeeper David Raya with a new contract in the near future.

Raya, 31, has established himself as a key player for Arsenal since joining on loan from Premier League rivals Brentford in 2023, before making the move permanent a year later.

In total the Spaniard has made 159 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions, keeping 74 clean sheets and winning the Golden Glove award in each of the past two seasons.

Last term the Spain international played an integral role as Arteta’s side lifted the Premier League trophy, and the report suggests that the club are now preparing to offer him a new deal.

Raya’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but the player has admitted that he would consider playing in La Liga and Arsenal are therefore moving to ensure the player’s long-term future remains at The Emirates.

The player is said to be happy at Arsenal, however, and it remains to be seen whether or not he will agree to sign a new deal with the reigning Premier League champions.
