The Patriots got in an extra day of practice Monday afternoon after a mini bye week, following their Thursday night loss to the Bears.

Offensive lineman Ben Brown (knee) returned to practice Monday after suffering his injury in the Patriots’ Week 6 win over the Jets. Rookie cornerback Karon Prunty (hamstring) also practiced after being inactive Thursday night.

If Brown continues to trend in the right direction, it would not be surprising to see him start at left guard, replacing Walter Rouse, this week.

Multiple veteran players got the day off, according to reporters on the scene. RB Rhamondre Stevenson, TE Hunter Henry, OT Morgan Moses, EDGE Dre’Mont Jones, LB Robert Spillane, LB Christian Elliss, CB Marcus Jones and S Kevin Byard were all absent.

The Patriots have Tuesday off and will return to practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before facing the Dolphins in Week 8.
