Following the injury report, X user @FinesseBTW_ posted a video showing a sequence involving London and several 49ers defenders. The caption read, “Wonder how that could have happened.” The footage also featured San Francisco linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

Greenlaw received a one-game suspension without pay earlier in October following an incident involving Seattle Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV. During that incident, Greenlaw struck Jones, who was not wearing a helmet, with his own helmet after Seahawks players confronted him following a late hit on quarterback Sam Darnold. Greenlaw was ejected from that game, and the NFL suspended him for unsportsmanlike conduct. The earlier incident was Separate from the sequence shown in the video involving London and does not establish whether the latest contact violated NFL rules.

London returned to the field and finished the game with seven receptions for 66 yards and one touchdown on 10 targets. Early in the fourth quarter, he caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Michael Penix Jr., extending Atlanta’s lead to 26–14. Through seven games, London had recorded 38 receptions for 616 yards and one touchdown.

Penix completed 25 of 34 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns against San Francisco. After an incomplete pass on his opening attempt, he completed 11 consecutive passes during the first half. Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts also caught a touchdown pass from Penix in the third quarter, recording his 300th career reception.

San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy completed 27 of 40 passes for 288 yards and one touchdown, but threw two interceptions and was sacked twice. Atlanta’s defense recorded two sacks, forced three fumbles and produced three turnovers. Linebacker Kendal Daniels intercepted a pass late in the game and returned it 29 yards. The Falcons’ defense also recorded six tackles for loss and seven passes defended.

Atlanta defeated San Francisco 29–20, improving to 3–4 after back-to-back losses and earning its first home win of the season. The defeat dropped the 49ers to 6–1 and ended their unbeaten start. Atlanta’s next game is against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8.
