“Thursday Night Football” continues on pace for its best season on Prime Video, as Amazon is averaging 17.7 million viewers after Week 7. The six games in that time frame are up 12% from the same period in 2025. Patriots-Bears in Week 7 averaged 19.9 million viewers, marking Prime Video’s second-best regular-season NFL game yet (behind only Broncos-Chiefs on Christmas last year at 21.1 million). “TNF” this season is also drawing a median age of 48.8, which is more than six years younger than what linear TV networks are getting for NFL games this season to date (55.0).
Valkyries-Dream WNBA Finals Game 3 drew 1.71 million viewers on USA, CNBC and E! on Wednesday, marking the best WNBA Finals Game 3 since 1999. It’s also the second-best Game 3 on record and the best Game 3 for cable TV. Valkyries-Dream is up 31% from Aces-Mercury Game 3 last year on ESPN (also on a Wednesday).
NBA games on NBC will be measured using a combo of Nielsen panel + Adobe Analytics data. Earlier this fall, when it was announced that NBC would be using Nielsen Big Data for the NFL season and the MLB postseason, it was undecided what the NBA would do. However, sources have indicated that a shift down the line for NBC to use Nielsen Big Data for NBA games has not been ruled out, especially as both sides continue to test first-party integration.
Pat McAfee, in his debut “Field Pass” alt-cast on ESPN2 for “Monday Night Football,” drew just 351,000 viewers for Commanders-49ers in Week 6. That’s not only a fraction of the audience for a “ManningCast” on ESPN2 this season, but it also was below the 469,000 viewers that NFL Network got on the same night for a Next Gen Stats alt-cast of the same game.
Preliminary numbers for Rays-Brewers Game 1 on Friday night showed no signs of a “small-market” World Series, as Fox and Univision drew a combined 12.2 million viewers, sources tell me.
MLB headed into the World Series on Friday night with playoff viewership down 2% year over year, but it’s still the second-best postseason since 2018.
