Former Georgia WR George Pickens hauls in impressive TD reception to take lead over Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys are taking on the host Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in a clash of struggling NFC East rivals. During the second quarter, quarterback Dak Prescott connected with wide receiver George Pickens for a 21-yard touchdown to take the lead against the Eagles.

Prescott perfectly placed his pass in the corner of the end zone and the [Georgia](https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/college-football/teams/georgia/) product toe tapped to complete the impressive catch. It was a close call but the refs confirmed it after replay review.

It’s been a strong past few games for Pickens. This is his second touchdown in the last 3 games after not scoring in the first 4 contests of the season.

Pickens is in his second season with the Cowboys after beginning his career with 3 years for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Cowboys placed the franchise tag on Pickens after he earned second-team All-Pro honors last season. Pickens produced 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2025.

Pickens’ best season in Pittsburgh came in 2023 when he hauled in 63 receptions for 1,140 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was a member of Georgia’s 2021 national championship squad and was selected with the 52nd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
