The Philadelphia Eagles have an injury concern with running back Saquon Barkley in the second half of the Week 7 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Barkley, who came into the game after missing the last two with a hamstring injury, has been battling discomfort all night long, but it’s his back that has him on the sideline now, not his hamstring.
Prior to his exit, Barkley carried the ball seven times for 62 yards, including a long of 29, and he found the end zone. Barkley also has two catches for nine yards.

The Eagles announced that Barkley is officially questionable to return with a back injury.
“Injury Update: RB Saquon Barkley (back) is questionable to return,” the Eagles wrote.
Barkley has been laboring all night long, so it’s less than surprising he’s out of the game for now.

We’d be surprised to see him play another snap, especially because Philly has a short week before their Week 8 contest against the Washington Commanders.

Barkley’s injury is especially devastating for the Eagles because they are without Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, so they desperately need his contributions on the ground and through the air.
With Barkley sidelined, Dameon Pierce and Elijah Mitchell, who was elevated from the practice squad for this game, will take over backfield duties, with Pierce likely to serve as the lead back.
The Eagles have been crushed by injuries at running back this season. Along with Barkley, Philly is also missing backups Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley, both of whom are on IR.
