Who makes David Moyes contract and January transfer window calls with Everton up for sale?

David Moyes spoke of his hope that his managerial tenure at Everton can continue after Christian Purslow and Henry Winter declared how they felt giving him a new deal was a key factor in stabilising the club during the current sale process.

Stability is what Moyes has brought back to the football club since he returned. He changed how we were playing, got the points on the board and we’re more stable than we were.

But going forward, if you’re an investor or a buyer, you’re looking at that situation and looking how you want to push forwards and want to start going for trophies.

Where we are now, with a couple of months until the transfer window reopens, it’s not just about finding a buyer for the football club it’s also about trying to find players who want to come here. Knowing that Moyes has only got six months left, is that going to be more of a challenge for them when you’re speaking to their agents?

As it goes on, with no new deal being agreed, it’s started to open up a can of worms. One way or another, somebody needs to make a decision and are they going to offer a contract to the manager?

It’s a question that’s on a lot of Evertonians’ minds but who is the guy that’s going to make the decision? Dan Friedkin hired Moyes but has never spoken to him but does chief executive Angus Kinnear even have the remit to make these calls?

Are you happy TFG have put Everton up for sale?

No, they should sell but now is not the right time

We can’t let it drag on because it could hurt us in the long run. Have we got a plan in January? Have we got players lined up to make us competitive for the second half of the season who we can press the button on?

Football clubs are not cheap, so if you’re paying something between £800million to a billion pounds for Everton, you want it to tick all the right boxes and the manager’s contract is a solution that needs sorting so we can move on and focus on the football and get investors lined up to do deals and buy the club off The Friedkin Group.

If you’re trying to sell your home, you want to meet personally with the new buyers to showcase all the nice features. However, these owners haven’t turned up from the start, so even though we’ve got an elite stadium and a fantastic club with a huge, loyal fanbase plus an incredible history, unfortunately, their hands-off approach will probably ensure someone else is left to handle that on their behalf.
