Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Matthias Jaissle's pre-match press conference ahead of Newcastle United's trip to face Everton in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening.
Jaissle will face the media for the first time since Sunday's 2-0 win at Crystal Palace, where goals from Will Osula and Harvey Barnes saw the Magpies return to winning ways after difficult defeats against Coventry City and Aston Villa.
Newcastle have a rich history in the Carabao Cup in recent years, having won the competition in 2025, as well as reaching the final in 2023, the quarter-finals in 2024 and the semi-finals in 2026.
Jaissle will hope to continue that trend, having won cup competitions himself while manager of RB Salzburg and Al-Ahli and he will be asked about that, what to expect from the Toffees and an update on the club's injury situation.
Follow the blog below for all of the build-up, updates and reaction, with Jaissle due to speak at 2:30pm.
