Pro Football HOFer and “Fox NFL Sunday” analyst Terry Bradshaw “expects to be replaced after the network shows the Super Bowl in 2029” and is “hoping that there’s no fancy send-off,” despite recently signing a two-year extension with Fox, according to Jake Nisse of MEN’S HEALTH. Bradshaw said, “I am totally confident on the air, absolutely. Supremely confident. … I’m going through now what everybody that’s in their 70s goes through. I’m 78. I just signed a two-year extension, and I’m pretty sure no matter how well I perform over the next two years, they’re going to want to replace me.” He added, “I’m not going to announce my retirement, because in two years when we do the Super Bowl, after my contract is expiring, I don’t want anybody to do a tribute. So I’m never going to say I’m going to retire. Because, look, they may say, ‘Hey, you’re still doing a good job. We’ll sign you for another year.’ That could easily happen. They’re pissing into the wind if they think I’m gonna tell them I’m retiring.” Asked about the possibility of Fox giving him a tribute when he leaves, Bradshaw said, “What if I say, ‘I don’t know why you’re doing that for, I’m not retiring.’ But I mean, I’m not going anywhere either. What am I going to do, at 80? Go to ESPN? [laughs].” Asked what a successful final couple of years at Fox would look like, Bradshaw said, “Keep entertaining, give strong opinions when I feel it” (MEN’S HEALTH, 10/23).
