Guard Quenton Nelson was at the center of speculation about a possible Colts fire sale and the team has decided to move the longtime centerpiece of their offensive line.
Per multiple reports, they have agreed to trade Nelson to the Seahawks. The Seahawks will send a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick back to Indianapolis.
Nelson was the sixth-overall pick in 2018 and he was a first-team All-Pro in each of his first three seasons. He’s also a three-time second-team All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowler, but he’s in the final year of his contract and the Colts are in rebuilding mode after firing General Manager Chris Ballard last week.
The Seahawks started Gray Zabel and Anthony Bradford at guard in their Week 7 win against the Chiefs, but saw left tackle Charles Cross leave that game with an ankle injury. It’s unclear how much time Cross will miss, but Nelson’s arrival will lead to Seattle moving some pieces around as they work to build a stronger offensive line for their push for a playoff spot and a run at a second straight Super Bowl title.
