Indianapolis Colts Shopping Another All-Pro After Seahawks Trade

The Indianapolis Colts lost their third game in a row this past Sunday, falling to 2-5 in the process. Usually, teams who are headed for top-10 draft picks can at least take solace in the fact that they’ll have a good chance of adding a blue-chip prospect in the next NFL Draft. But the Colts aren’t that lucky.

After trading their 2027 first-round pick to the New York Jets in part of last year’s Sauce Gardner trade, the Colts, who just fired general manager Chris Ballard, are desperate to add draft capital. They started that process on Tuesday by trading potential future Hall of Famer Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick plus a 2028 fifth-round selection. But the Colts aren’t done trading players.

Indianapolis Colts Now Ready to Trade DeForest Buckner Too

Nelson was in the final year of his contract, but he’s not the only big-name Colts player on an expiring deal. One-time First-Team All-Pro defensive tackle DeForest Buckner is in a similar situation, and he’s expressed some frustration over playing for a losing squad in the past two weeks.

Now, as Jordan Schultz reports, the Colts may be turning their attention to trading Buckner elsewhere. In fact, the NFL insider expects a Buckner trade in the very near future.

“Sources: The #Colts are also actively shopping DT DeForest Buckner. I expect him to be moved soon if the right offer comes in.”

Two weeks ago, Buckner said, “I’m sick and tired of the same song and dance every year” following the Colts’ 26-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans. After last Sunday’s 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Buckner admitted that he’s “frustrated.”

Now it sounds like he may get his wish by being re-routed to a contending team ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline. The question is, which team will step up and trade for the three-time Pro Bowler?
