Giants roster moves: RB Tyrone Tracy to Ir, RB Greg Derosiers signed

The New York Giants have made a trio of roster moves as they enter their BYE week.

The Giants placed **RB Tyrone Tracy** on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury, per GM Joe Schoen. The team signed **RB Greg Derosiers Jr.** off of the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad as the corresponding roster move. The Giants [are also adding veteran](/new-york-giants-roster/177885/dean-lowry-signing-practice-squad-giants) **DL Dean Lowry** to their practice squad.

Tracy suffered the hamstring injury on a 7-yard run 5:29 remaining in the second quarter against the Houston Texans. Tracy had been playing well in an increased role, scoring a touchdown earlier in the game, and that run helping to set up a Jameis Winston touchdown. Tracy’s injury is not considered to be a long term one, however he’ll miss the next four weeks.

The Giants will play the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders (Thursday Night Football), and Jacksonville Jaguars in that span.

Derosiers Jr. is an undrafted free agent rookie out of Memphis and weighs in at 5-foot-10, 205 pounds. He doesn’t have stand-out physical traits, but he did have an impressive preseason that was highlighted by a 9-carry, 118-yard, 1 TD performance in the final preseason game. He was an efficient runner in college, averaging 6.2 yards per carry over the previous four years, with averages of 8.1 and 7.4 per carry in 2023 and 2024 (respectively). 2025 was a “down” season and Derosiers Jr. only averaged 5.7 yards per carry. Derosiers Jr. is a versatile back with upside as a pass catcher as well as a kick returner, which should allow him to contribute immediately on special teams.
