The Indianapolis Colts are facing a big decision ahead of the upcoming NFL trade deadline. Indianapolis is just 2-5 overall and could look to trade some notable players before the deadline. The biggest question is whether or not they will trade star running back Jonathan Taylor. NFL insider Adam Schefter recently provided the latest update on the situation during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“My understanding is that the owner doesn't want to trade Jonathan Taylor,” Schefter said Tuesday. “… I'm sure they don't want to trade Jonathan Taylor, and if I had to guess today, I would say I don't think they will trade Jonathan Taylor. But I think there are going to be teams that are interested out there that will try to have conversations, make offers. And if the Colts don't change their stance, they won't trade Jonathan Taylor.”

Taylor, 27, is under contract through 2028. The Colts don't have to move him now. Of course, he would draw no shortage of interest if made available. The Colts would surely be able to receive attention-grabbing value for him in a potential deal.

Taylor currently leads the league with eight touchdowns. The running back also has recorded 587 yards on the ground. He's one of the best running backs in the NFL without question.

It will be interesting to see if the team at least listens to offers even if they don't plan to move Taylor. Perhaps the Colts will receive an offer that is too good to refuse.

The 2026 NFL trade deadline is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10.
