Chelsea are marginally better off in the injury department than over the weekend, but even that one returning player was only rated a strong maybe to play, let alone make an impact. That’s not to say that Emmanuel Emegha can’t possibly make a big difference, but he barely played in preseason and is yet to play a single minute of competitive action for Chelsea.
As such, he seems unlikely to start this game. But perhaps the voting public will have something different in mind than Xabi Alonso? The manager got a fair few things wrong against Spurs — the performance was greatly lacking of course, individually and collectively, but we were exactly set up for success with a disjointed attack and a midfield that was repeatedly outnumbered and overrun.
Is it time to rethink the system? Was that just a (massive) blip and are we still on the rightt track?
