Arsenal have seen a second January transfer ruled out after Club Brugge rejected the idea of selling Nicolo Tresoldi this winter. The news follows Atletico Madrid's stance that Julian Alvarez would remain in the Spanish capital until at least the end of the season.
It had previously been reported that the Gunners were set to make a move for Tresoldi, 22, in the coming months. The north London side were successful in negotiations with Club Brugge over the summer as they prised Christos Tzolis away from the Juniper League side and could be set to try their hand once again.
But, according to Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad, the Premier League champions are set to be disappointed in any endeavour to sign the Italy-born forward at the start of 2027. Brugge have decided their attacker is not for sale despite interest from Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, in addition to Arsenal.

The report claims that Tresoldi is becoming 'increasingly difficult to keep', but even a 'massive' or 'astronomical' bid will not tempt the Belgian side during the upcoming window. The club will not even countenance an offer it is said.
Brugge's strong stance is only set to last until the end of the season, however. The club have no intention of slowing down their star's career.
Tresoldi is under contract until June 2029. The forward has scored seven goals in nine appearances this term, including a hat-trick against Sint-Truidense at the weekend when Club Brugge came away 3-2 victors.

Brugge head coach Ivan Leko believes this season is important for Tresoldi's development. "He is another top lad who is completely dedicated to his craft," the Croatian said.
"He is always the first to arrive at the training ground and the last to leave. Everything he does is done with conviction and a drive to improve.
"On the pitch he has exceptional qualities. He is a very complete striker who can score goals, link up play, press aggressively and take real responsibility during the game.
"This season is vital for him. It’s his second year to build on and confirm all the talent and potential he has."
Tresoldi is a German youth international who has racked up 16 goals in 27 appearances. The youngster joined Club Brugge from Hannover last season and scored 23 goals in 58 appearances in his debut season including 19 in 40 league matches.
