Chelsea could face a Liverpool side missing two important players when the teams meet in the Carabao Cup.
The Blues travel to Anfield on Wednesday night for a fourth-round tie against their Premier League rivals, with both sides looking to secure a place in the next round.
Liverpool have been managing several fitness concerns during a busy run of fixtures, and Iraola has now admitted that two of his players face a difficult race to be ready: Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz.
There is more optimism surrounding Florian Wirtz, however, after the German midfielder picked up an ankle problem against Brighton last weekend.
Andoni Iraola provides Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz injury update
Speaking to the press, via Metro, ahead of the cup tie, Iraola admitted he was uncertain whether Szoboszlai and Munoz would recover in time to feature against the Blues.
"I don't think I can help you a lot. We still have to wait, we train later. We want to [use] this last day," he said.
The Liverpool boss was more positive when discussing Wirtz, who was forced off during Sunday's 2-0 victory over Brighton after twisting his ankle.
***"He was quite fine, Florian – I'm quite optimistic that he will be available,"***Iraola explained.
However, the outlook was less encouraging for the other two players.
He added: "And with Dom and Victor, I'm not so sure. I don't want to say no, but I think it's going to be more difficult than Florian, yes."
Neither player has been definitively ruled out, but the comments suggest Chelsea could avoid facing both in Wednesday's contest.
Szoboszlai has been struggling with a hamstring problem, while Munoz has also been dealing with an injury that has kept him out of recent matches.
Their availability will depend on how they fare during Liverpool's final preparations.
Liverpool could make changes against Chelsea
The potential absences come as Iraola prepares to manage his squad across several competitions, with Liverpool also having their Premier League commitments to consider.
The head coach confirmed that changes to his starting line-up were likely, but insisted that would not mean his side would take the cup tie lightly.
"There will definitely be changes, but we want to win the game, we want to be competitive," he said. "We need to see how the legs are."
Iraola acknowledged that rotating players has become almost essential given the demands of competing in the Premier League and Champions League alongside domestic cup football.
However, he made clear that Liverpool remain determined to progress, despite facing a difficult opponent in Chelsea.
For Chelsea, the possibility of facing a weakened Liverpool side could be significant, particularly after their own disappointing defeat to Spurs at the weekend.
