How Beto is faring since leaving Everton in the summer

Everton sanctioned the sale of Beto on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Everton sold Beto to Fiorentina for around £14.6m and then failed to bring in a replacement, with the Folarin Balogun deal falling through.

Fiorentina finished 15th in Serie A last term, so it wasn’t the most prestigious move for the former Toffees centre-forward.

It was always going to be a challenge, and Fiorentina are currently residing in the relegation zone this term after six defeats in their opening eight games.

With that said, we’ve had a closer look at how Beto is faring.

What are your thoughts on a potential move for Marcus Rashford? 👀 Everton and Man United are said to be in talks over January move…

@robi I totally agree, I thinj we need a striker, nir a winger, ive mentioned in previous comments, but If we were to go for a winger, the 22yr old Garnacho, now I know he is only now starting to find form again, but he could POTENTIALLY be good for us. But like I said a striker would be better.

Not for me. Has to be a younger, hungrier option out there surely?

Fair point, I know a Liverpool supporter and even he admited that he'd love to poach him and actually use him on the right, paired with Rio, so if a Liverpool supporter says it then come on Moyes!

Former Everton striker Beto is really struggling at Fiorentina

Beto has made seven appearances for Fiorentina this season and is yet to score his first goal for the club. Although he’s only started two games.

Coppa Italia 1 0 0 0

Total 7 2 0 1

Speaking after Fiorentina’s defeat to Inter at the weekend, manager Paolo Vanoli admitted Beto needs to do a lot better.

“I’m sorry to have to be a psychologist for such a key player, but he knows it too. He has to be good at putting his head down and working hard. I need him too.”

Last month, former sporting director Pino Vitale questioned Beto’s physical condition and believes he needs to lose weight.

“Beto? I saw him at Everton too; he’s physically too big, a few pounds less wouldn’t hurt him.” Vitale stated.

The 28-year-old is currently behind Mateo Pellegrino in the pecking order and it doesn’t look as though that’s going to change any time soon.

Pellegrino joined from Parma in the summer and is Fiorentina’s fifth most expensive signing in history, costing around £19m.

The 25-year-old has scored three goals this term, so Beto will have to take his opportunities from the bench.
