As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, Atalanta, Inter, and Lazio are eyeing up a move for Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa, who is keen to return to Italy.
A homecoming has practically been on the cards for Chiesa ever since his move to Anfield. During his time at Merseyside, Italy’s Euro 2020 hero has struggled for fitness and game time, managing only five goals and assists each in 51 appearances. He has recently returned from a back injury.
Chiesa’s Liverpool contract runs until June 2028, though it’s his wages that could prove to be a challenge for those pursuing him.
High-flying Lazio in particular may find it hard to match his €6m-per-year Liverpool contract, while his complicated relationship with Cristiano Giuntoli during their time at Juve could make a move to Atalanta tricky to materialise.
That leaves Inter, though they may only make a move if Luis Henrique departs in January.
Regardless of where he eventually lands, Chiesa’s exit from Liverpool and return to Italy is only a matter of time, and it could happen as soon as this January.
