Arsenal and Manchester United compete for Como’s Jacobo Ramon

Serie A side Como have seen defender Jacobo Ramon reach new heights since joining from Real Madrid. Cesc Fabregas’ system has taken him to a different altogether and he is clearly key for the lakeside club. Now, Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on the defender.

Tuttomercatoweb report that the Spaniard’s long-term future at Como remains uncertain.

Real Madrid have control over his future, having inserted a buyback clause in his contract when he left. They also have a 50% resale fee in the deal, but Arsenal and Manchester United are increasingly alive to the idea of signing him.

This comes as a threat to Los Blancos, whose options will remain in the summer of 2027 and 2028. Ramon’s value now stands at between €45 million and €50 million, which could be affordable to Manchester United and Arsenal.

Como should assert control

This situation is very similar to that of Nico Paz, who returned to Real Madrid in the summer. Como had to re-sign him for a significant fee and it helped them maintain control over affairs. Ramon’s situation is edging towards being very similar and Fabregas’ side could seek the same solution once again.
