Lennart Karl is now a potential transfer target for potential Premier League clubs if he cannot get his situation sorted at Bayern Munich as per the latest transfer news. The three English teams are keeping their eyes on the young forward but Bayern do not intend to sell him in the short-term.
Uli Hoeness Sends Warning to Youngster
As reported by TEAMtalk, Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeness has publicly told the young star to stay down to earth and also warned him not to compare himself to Michael Olise who has become a key player under the Germans. There are concerns about Karl’s lack of playing time but there are also concerns about his attitude off the pitch
Hoeness feels Karl has a lot more to prove before he gets to that level. This could be a turning point for the young player. Often young players get caught up in the pressure of their quick rise to stardom.
Now Karl will have to show his improvements through his play and attitude. If he can get more game time and make the most of it then any concerns could be put to one side. Hopefully, Bayern know Karl can turn his potential into consistent first team play.
Karl’s 2026/2027 stats for Bayern Munich so far, as per FOTMOB:

Bundesliga 6 1 0 41.2 31.2%
Champions League 3 0 1 25 11.2%
Lennart Karl Faces Competition at Bayern Munich
Karl had a fantastic debut season under Kompany. He scored 9 goals and made 7 assists in 34 games across all competitions. He also got his first senior caps for Germany. But this season Karl has struggled to push forward. He has only started two Bundesliga games and one Champions League game due to the competition for starting spots.
Ismael Saibari has also come into the team meaning there is more competition. The new signing has played well which has boosted Bayern’s attacking options. Playing regularly is going to be key for Karl’s development. He is a young 18-year-old who needs to gain some experience at the top level but there are plenty of senior attackers fighting for a spot. This has led to interest from clubs across Europe. Karl was once targeted by Arsenal and Liverpool but decided to stay in Munich. However, now Manchester United are keeping an eye on the situation.
Could Arsenal, Liverpool or Man United Make a Move?
TEAMtalk reported that intermediaries have been in contact with the club. Arsenal and Liverpool have had an interest in Karl in the past whilst Man United have also been made aware of the potential opportunity. Real Madrid and Barcelona are also understood to be keeping an eye on the forward after they had an interest in Karl when he was a lot younger. Karl has developed a reputation within European football.
However, there are still some big hurdles to overcome. Karl signed a new contract with Bayern earlier this year which ties him to the club until 2029. This puts Bayern in a strong position going forward. There is no guarantee Karl will look to leave. He may want to play more games and develop his talent in Germany. It could also be that Bayern want to keep Karl and assist him in becoming a bigger part of the team.
Karl has the talent to attract interest from leading clubs. But a move away from Bayern should depend on his long-term development, not short-term frustration. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United may offer different opportunities, yet regular minutes matter most at his age. For now, his next steps at Bayern will be worth watching.
