Arsenal summer signing Christos Tzolis is reportedly working hard on his recovery in a bid to be available against Liverpool on Sunday. The Gunners have been without the winger since last month but Mikel Arteta could receive a huge boost as the 24-year-old pushes to feature for the Emirates Stadium club this weekend. Arsenal visit Anfield to take on the Reds and could do with a win as they look to defend their Premier League title this season.
Tzolis injured his hamstring earlier this month while on duty for Greece against the Netherlands. The left winger has weighed in with two assists in six games across the Premier League and Champions League, and having him back will be huge. He has started in all five league games he has featured in for the Gunners this term and will hope to reclaim his starting spot very soon. Declan Rice, Mikel Merino and Noni Madueke are also hoping to be available against Liverpool having missed the trip to Fleetwood Town last night.
However, the Spanish midfielder could miss out again if he does not recover from the illness which saw him sit out of Tuesday’s game.
Madueke is suffering from an ankle problem but it is hoped he will be fit enough to face Liverpool after he was rested yesterday.
Rice had a hamstring discomfort against Everton and was also rested against Fleetwood.
He could be fit enough to return to action as Arsenal look to bounce back from last night’s disappointing defeat.
