Nicolo Tresoldi is a wanted man, with Arsenal eyeing a January move for him as Viktor Gyokeres continues to struggle in front of goal. For a top team such as the Gunners, they need a striker they can rely on, but their goals have been spread around the team because Gyokeres cannot score and Kai Havertz is not consistent enough.
The Gunners trust both players, but trust alone is not enough to stop Mikel Arteta from signing a replacement. The Arsenal manager will sanction the signing of another frontman if he believes that player would represent an upgrade on the current options available to him.
A Warning for Gyokeres
That should serve as an important warning sign for Gyokeres, although he may remain relevant until the end of the season. As reported by Metro Sport, Club Brugge has blocked the departure of Tresoldi during the January transfer window.
Club Brugge believes the attacker is too important for them to lose in midseason, and they now plan to keep him in their squad for the remainder of the term. That decision could delay Arsenal’s pursuit, but it does not necessarily end their interest in the striker.

Why Summer May Suit Arsenal
Arsenal could instead land Tresoldi in the summer, which might be the best time to complete a deal. By then, the Gunners may have offloaded one of their existing strikers to accommodate him within the squad.
A summer move could also benefit Tresoldi himself. He would have the opportunity to continue improving by playing regularly for Club Brugge, something that might not happen during the first months after a move to the Emirates. Regular football at his current club could help him arrive at Arsenal better prepared for the demands of Premier League football.
For now, Arsenal must continue assessing their attacking options. If Gyokeres and Havertz cannot provide the consistent goalscoring threat the club requires, the pursuit of Tresoldi is likely to remain firmly on their agenda.
