Chelsea Team News
Both sets of injury and suspension details are based on the latest information available on PremierInjuries.
Xabi Alonso faces the tough task of working around an injury to striker Joao Pedro who started the season in red-hot form. His absence was a big blow at the weekend in a 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur where the Brazilian’s skill set was dearly missed up front.
He isn’t the only big absence as veterans Emi Martinez and Reece James are also out, severely limiting the available options. Cole Palmer is suspended which provides another blow to the attack. Jamie Gittens is the last of the guaranteed absentees as he suffered a long-term issue on international duty.
Pep Chavarria is a doubt after missing the squad against Tottenham but could feature off the bench depending on his fitness; meanwhile striker Emmanuel Emegha is in line to see some minutes after the manager deemed him fit to be in the squad after an injury.
Liverpool Team News
Andoni Iraola is combating some issues of his own, he has long-term problems to Hugo Ekitike, Giovanni Leoni, and Connor Bradley to contend with as well as the absence of Jeremie Frimpong. This is added to by the doubts over a number of usual starters who could be late decisions for the coach to make. Florian Wirtz, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Victor Munoz are facing uncertainty, any of which would alter the manager’s approach greatly if they were to be sidelined.
