Liverpool will face another big challenge this weekend as they take on Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The reigning champions will aim to break the Reds' current unbeaten run in the Premier League. Since losing 3-0 to Manchester City, Liverpool have beaten Brentford and Brighton to climb to fourth.

Andoni Iraola is keen for "more" from his Reds as he urges the Anfield crowd to get behind their team to the fullest. He said: "The victory over Brighton showed once again the importance of doing the basics well. I love that this is something that our supporters respond to.

"This was something I knew already from my time as an opposition manager but feeling it on this side – especially those moments when the whole crowd reacts to a tackle being won or a player showing big desire – is something that, like winning, I could never get enough of."

Here, the ECHO has the latest headlines coming out of Anfield.

Key player's exit a 'concrete possibility'

Alexis Mac Allister is reportedly 'set to leave' Liverpool when the current campaign concludes. Sky Sports Switzerland claims that a contract extension for the Argentine midfielder is not among the Reds' immediate plans as they prepare to rebuild their squad next summer.

This stance has made Mac Allister's 2027 exit a 'concrete possibility' despite the 27-year-old's desire to stay at Anfield. His representatives have allegedly begun touting the midfielder to clubs throughout La Liga, Serie A and the Saudi Pro League.

Mac Allister's deal runs until the summer of 2028, but with a major squad overhaul anticipated next year, it remains conceivable that Liverpool could see him depart at the end of the campaign.

Liverpool are set to be reunited with Dirk Kuyt in the Champions League after he was appointed interim manager of Fenerbahce. The former winger, who registered 111 goal contributions during his stint at Anfield, will take charge of the Turkish outfit when they meet the Reds next week.

Kuyt also turned out for Fenerbahce during his playing days and has succeeded Ismail Kartal at the helm following a spell of disappointing results. The 2-1 defeat to rivals Galatasaray marked the end for Kartal and the start for Kuyt.

The 46-year-old will oversee the side for the first time against Goztepe this weekend before taking on his former club in the Champions League on Wednesday, November 4. Kuyt is expected to remain in post until the international break, which will span three matches in total.
