The American owners are already searching for a new buyer for the Toffees after taking over from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024.
That begs the question of whether the Blues will sign new players in January as the current ownership looks for a way out.
David Moyes was left with a depleted squad after the summer window and would like a new number nine to support Thierno Barry at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Scottish manager has 18 outfield players at his disposal and some have been unavailable in recent weeks due to fitness issues.
It's clear the Merseyside outfit need to bolster their squad at the turn of the year and TFG's possible stance on making funds available has emerged.
Everton transfer plans haven't changed after The Friedkin Group decision
The Friedkins want to complete a sale at Everton soon and have no intention of dragging the process out.
However, there's every chance the American owners might not be able to find a buyer before the winter transfer window opens.
Daily Mail Journalist Lewis Steele has been told that even if TFG don't find a new buyer before January, the Blues will spend money on new signings.
There's an acknowledgement at the Merseyside outfit that the addition of a striker is a major priority at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Moyes wanting to see at least two fresh faces come through the door.
Writing in the Daily Mail on 28 October, Steele said, "Yes. I'm told there is no change of plans as far as January transfers go.
"The club know they need to sign a striker as the number one priority and are actively looking at targets. Moyes would ideally like a number nine plus at least one additional player through the door in the new year."
Which other position does David Moyes need to strengthen at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Barry has been wasteful in front of goal for Everton this season and the arrival of a reliable goalscorer in January would be a no-brainer.
It's evident for everyone that the Toffees should target a new striker when the window reopens after failing to get a deal over the line for Folarin Balogun on deadline day.
Another position that is lacking depth is left-back, with no cover for Vitalii Mykolenko in the squad.
With the Ukraine international struggling with fitness issues at the moment, Moyes will likely have to play James Garner out of position in the backline.
With an already depleted squad, the Scottish manager can't afford to lose any more players right now and the Merseyside outfit need to support him as soon as January arrives.
