David Moyes applauds Everton fans
It's an all-Premier League clash at Hill Dickinson Stadium, as the Toffees take on the Magpies.
David Moyes' side are three games without a win, and could really use the lift that another cup victory would provide.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are in mixed form too, winning three and losing three from their last six games in all competitions.
Fans are often left divided on whether a deep cup run is a welcome distraction or not.
But now Everton are closing in on the business end of the Carabao Cup this season, the chance to play for silverware is tantalisingly close.
What has Dom King said about David Moyes on talkSPORT?
Everton haven't lifted a major trophy since 1995, when the Toffees lifted the FA Cup for the fifth time in their history.
One competition that Everton have never won is the Carabao Cup (League Cup).
They've come close though, finishing runners-up on two separate occasions in 1977 and 1984.
Everton fans have been starved of silverware and big days out in general over the years, so any opportunity to be involved in those can't be dismissed.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday morning, The Telegraph's Merseyside reporter Dominic King has revealed Moyes' mindset on Everton's Carabao Cup progression.
"Big one tonight Al (Alan Brazil) at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for Everton and Newcastle. Great opportunity for Everton here if they can get past them," he said.
"No disrespect to Fleetwood, but if you're looking at that and you're thinking you're potentially 180 minutes from a semi-final, they'll be right up for it.
"I know how much Moyesy is up for this and was desperate to give Everton fans the day out at Wembley they deserve."
So, how long has it been since Everton played at Wembley, and are the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup played at the home of football?
How did Everton fare in their last visit to Wembley?
It's been over a decade since Everton last contested a competitive fixture at Wembley.
This came in the FA Cup semi-finals in April 2016, when they took on Manchester United.
Unfortunately it was the Red Devils who emerged victorious on that day, with Marouane Fellaini and Anthony Martial scoring for United, whilst a Chris Smalling own goal found the net for Everton.
If Everton beat Newcastle in the fifth round of the Carabao Cup on Thursday, then they will take on Arsenal-killers Fleetwood in the quarter-finals.
But even if the Toffees beat the League Two outfit, they will still have to win one more game before Moyes can deliver that Wembley day out to the fans.
The semi-finals are played as two-legged ties both home and away, so there is still plenty of work to do for Everton.
