West Ham have been “offered” former Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

The 26-year-old, who has been capped 23 times by England, has been without a club since the beginning of July, and talkSPORT claim that teams, including the Hammers, have been contacted by his advisors informing them of his availability.

La Liga side Getafe were said to be in talks with Sancho, but they had offered a salary which was worth less than £10,000 a week, and the player is seeking alternatives.

Hammers supporters on X believe that the forward would be worth taking a gamble on:

West Ham do have two other left wingers

Manor Solomon and Edvin Austbo were both snapped up during the summer transfer window. The former has not had the kind of impact fans would have been hoping for since joining from Tottenham, while the latter has started just one game, despite impressing on occasion when given opportunities off the bench.

The club will, therefore, have to decide whether Sancho is worth the risk, considering his preferred position is not an area that really needs to be strengthened.

Sancho has had a difficult few years

After falling out with Erik ten Hag at Man Utd, the winger had three different loan spells away from Old Trafford; none of which were that successful.

Sancho spent the second half of the 2023/24 season with his former team Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 21 appearances.

He then joined Chelsea on loan for the 2024/25 campaign, where he made 15 goal contributions (5 goals and 10 assists) in 41 games, which was not a bad return, but it wasn’t enough to earn him a permanent move to Stamford Bridge.

Sancho made the switch to Aston Villa last year, but he didn’t make much of an impression, scoring just once and providing 3 assists in 39 matches.
