Alex Scott has developed into one of Bournemouth’s most important players over recent seasons. The midfielder made 37 Premier League appearances during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring three goals.
His performances subsequently helped him earn a breakthrough with the England senior squad in 2026.
Scott maintained that momentum by starting Bournemouth’s opening five Premier League matches this season.
However, a thigh injury suffered on international duty has interrupted his impressive start. His future has also become increasingly uncertain because of stalled negotiations over a new contract.
Scott remains tied to Bournemouth until June 2028 but has already rejected improved terms. Chelsea and Liverpool are both monitoring the situation ahead of the January transfer window.
The Blues submitted a £64 million offer during the summer, while Andoni Iraola wants a reunion at Liverpool.
Bournemouth have now responded by making another attempt to secure Scott’s long-term future.
According to TEAMtalk, owner Bill Foley has sanctioned another club-record contract offer for the midfielder.
Scott previously rejected terms which would have made him Bournemouth’s highest-paid player. However, Foley has encouraged the club’s hierarchy to approach the 23-year-old again.
Bournemouth remain determined to retain Scott despite increasing interest from leading Premier League clubs.
Chelsea are planning another approach in January after failing with their summer move.
Liverpool also remain interested, while Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have held conversations regarding Scott.
However, Bournemouth could consider changing their position if they receive a substantial January offer. Any potential deal would need to value Scott at least £100 million.
Head coach Marco Rose has asked Bournemouth not to sell his leading players during January.
Scott is currently expected to remain sidelined until the next international break in November.
Bournemouth therefore face an important period regarding both his recovery and contractual future.
Their latest offer represents another attempt to prevent one of their prized assets leaving.
However, Liverpool and Chelsea remain firmly positioned should Bournemouth eventually sanction a January transfer.
