In recent months, Désiré Doué (21) has steadily been gaining prominence within the Paris Saint-Germain squad. And as he has recently begun his third season, the French forward has gradually established himself as the club’s attacking leader since the start of the 2026-27 campaign.
Having featured in 12 of the 13 matches played so far by _Les Rouge et Bleu_, Doué has already proved decisive on eight occasions (four goals, four assists), with all of these coming against very high-level opposition – Manchester City, Olympique de Marseille, Barcelona, Aston Villa, RC Strasbourg-Alsace.
This impressive form has, of course, been appreciated by his manager. _“He’s a player with an incredible work ethic and a constant desire to help the team,”_ said Luis Enrique at a press conference on the eve of PSG’s away match at Le Havre.
_“When you take him off, he’s always smiling on the bench. He wants to help the team. He’s an incredible player and a real joy to watch for children and for anyone who loves football. I encourage him to carry on doing things the same way – to be humble and ambitious, because it’s important to be ambitious. Let him carry on doing what he’s doing.”_
But however good he may be, Doué remains a player in the spotlight. This is a factor that Enrique must inevitably take into account in the way he manages his young prodigy. _“For a player of his technical ability and at his age, the hardest thing is dealing with the hype surrounding him,”_ explained the Asturian.
