Manchester City footballer Jack Grealish, who is on loan at Everton, paid a surprise visit to a restaurant in the Cotswolds recently.

The England international dropped in to Pan-Asian eatery You, Me & Umami in Lechlade’s High Street, not far from Swindon and Cirencester, to pick up a takeaway.

The Everton winger, who has also played for Manchester City and Aston Villa, even took time to pose for a photo with the restaurant team.

You, Me & Umami serves a menu of bold flavours and pan-Asian favourites, from bao buns and gyoza to ramen, Thai curries and Indonesian nasi goreng.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said Grealish’s visit gave owner Foyez Rahman ‘a celebrity encounter to savour’.

“It was a real surprise to welcome Jack to You, Me & Umami,” Mr Rahman said.

“You never know who might walk through the door, and it was fantastic to have him visit us here in Lechlade.

“We’re proud of what we’re building and love seeing people from all walks of life enjoying our food.”
