Fabian Schar challenging Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in Everton win vs Newcastle in Carabao Cup on 29 October
The midfielder was at the heart of most things good, as the Toffees secured a 3-1 victory at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
James Garner, Hayden Hackney and Thierno Barry got the all-important goals to set up a quarter-final tie at Fleetwood.
David Moyes will have loved Dewsbury-Hall's all-action display though, capping it off with an assist for the third goal.
But, it wasn't all going forward, with his dogedness shown in defence, too.
That was on show in a clash with Harvey Barnes in his own area, which left Newcastle players enraged, calling for a penalty.
Despite that, Keith Hackett believes Farai Hallam was spot on to wave away those claims.
Why Newcastle reaction was pointless
Hackett believes that two players went to ground far too easily, and not all contact should be instantly punished.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, the ex-PGMOL chief admitted that he was impressed with the officiating as Will Osula and Barnes went to ground.
"Farai Hallam is proving to be an outstanding referee with a great future ahead of him," Hackett said.
"He was ideally positioned in both these challenges to turn down the appeals for a penalty kick.
"The first challenge we witnessed the number 10 go to the ground too easily, and he was lucky to not be yellow carded for a clear act of simulation.
"In the same phase his colleague also went to ground rather easily and I have no doubt that would have gone to VAR for a second look.
"However, again, referee Hallam in a good position turned down the appeals. I support his action."
Everton set for fiery trip to Newcastle
In a strange turn of events, this fixture will be played out at St James' Park on Monday, but in the Premier League.
If there wasn't fire behind it during these clashes, the last five minutes makes it a must-watch.
As Dan Burn scored a consolation, the defender and Joelinton tried to fight back against Jordan Pickford and James Tarkowski.
There was pulling, shoving and arms in the face as all four were booked by Hallam, which was probably the right call.
All it does is prove that Monday Night Football is going to be a must watch.
