Enzo Maresca press conference after Man City knock Brighton out of Carabao Cup

Brighton, who were beaten in the Premier League for the second time this season away at Liverpool last Sunday, face Man City for the second time in three days following a Carabao Cup fourth round meeting.

Kostoulas was rested for the cup tie, while Kadioglu and Chema missed out after being forced off at Anfield through injury.

However, Brighton’s hopes of avenging their Carabao Cup exit have been boosted after Hurzeler revealed that the trio are expected to be available for selection at the Etihad.

"We are quite convinced they will be options for Saturday," the Brighton boss said in his pre-match press conference.

Furthermore, Hurzerler confirmed Yankuba Minteh and Mats Wieffer, who both made their return after injury on Wednesday, came through the game unscathed and will be available for selection too.

“On Wednesday we saw plenty of good individual performances, so we definitely took that away,” Hurzeler added.

“If we change something in the starting XI it depends if players are available and how they present themselves after Wednesday.

“We need to go there with a mentally and physically refreshed team because we need intensity against City.

“They have the best individual players in the league, so you need to be tough, tight, precise, and at the highest physical and mental level.”
