Arsenal have spent the past 18 months securing their core players on new deals.
Gabriel Magalhaes and Myles Lewis-Skelly signed new contracts in June 2025. Ethan Nwaneri followed in August 2025, and William Saliba agreed a new five-year deal later that year.
Bukayo Saka signed a new long-term contract on 19 February 2026. His previous deal was due to expire in June 2027, and Premier League and European clubs had monitored his situation.
The pattern is clear. Arsenal want to settle contracts before players reach their final year.

From Bayern’s perspective, there is currently no concrete need for action. Despite the player’s general interest, Odegaard is not on the club’s list of priority transfer targets.
Odegaard joined Arsenal permanently in 2021 from Real Madrid, after a six-month loan. The reported fee was around €35 million.
Arsenal and Bayern drew 2-2 in the Champions League on 21 October. Odegaard started that game and has scored two Premier League goals in eight starts this season.
Arsenal travel to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday 1 November, with kick-off at 4.30pm. Odegaard’s contract situation will stay in focus beyond that fixture.
