Jack Grealish is in trouble again, off-the-pitch. This seems to be a pattern for the Manchester City winger, who is currently on loan to Everton, for the second consecutive season. Grealish missed out on last night’s 3-1 win over Newcastle United, in the EFL Cup, due to what was branded: “a breach of club discipline.” Everton have not disclosed the specuiifc reason, but according to multiple sources, Grealish missed training, without being authorized to do so.
“It was a club decision,” manager David Moyes told the media, in regards to the situation. “I support the decision. It’s something I don’t really want to speak too much about.”

You might recall that Grealish got into big trouble, back during his Aston Villa days, when he breached covid-19 lockdown rules to go party with his friends. It was kind of a charcacter concern red flag at the time, but it didn’t stop Man City from signing him in 2021 and making him the first ever English born £100m signing.
Grealish also missed last weekend’s loss to Arsenal, due to what was labeled an illness. He has yet to score or register an assist for Everton this season, and overall he has been a massive flop at City. Grealish has endured a lot of injury problems, in recent years, but his issues with maintaining self-discipline have also held his career back from reaching its full potential.
We’ll see if he is reinstated for Monday night; or not. The only other availability issure here for Everton is Jarrad Branthwaite, who is going through concussion protocol.

As Moyes said yesterday: “Jarrad should have recovered from his concussion, and also the timescale [protocols] we had to abide by.”
