Harry Kane was announced as the winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or this week, beating off competition from Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal.
It was a close run thing at the top of the standings, with France Football chief Vincent Garcia admitting after the announcement he felt Rodri had taken votes off Yamal when it came to the final reckoning.
The final points totals have now been revealed and have shown just how close it was in the race to be crowned the best male footballer in the world.
Kane sealed top spot from Mbappe by just 28 points, one of the smallest winning margins, with Yamal a little further back.
Here’s a look at the final standings.
Harry Kane: 1.055 points
Kylian Mbappe: 1.027 points
Lamine Yamal: 881 points
Rodri: 726 points
Lionel Messi: 612 points
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: 541 points
Ousmane Dembele: 418 points
Erling Haaland: 378 points
Michael Olise: 296 points
Fabian Ruiz: 201 points
Yamal is due to return to action on Saturday for the first time since the Ballon d’Or ceremony, with Hansi Flick backing him to shine.
“I feel very proud of Lamine. He reacted very well, in my opinion. In training, he was focused. That’s how academy players respond,” he said. “His mentality is very good for the team. We accept it; I’m happy it’s over, and now we can focus on important things.”
