Ligue 1 McDonald’s, Matchday 9, 30/10/2026
Away at Le Havre in the opening match of the ninth round of Ligue 1 fixtures, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 5-1 victory to record their sixth consecutive league win and cement their position at the top of the table. Le Havre, still without a win after nine league matches, remain at the bottom place.
The match
The evening had, however, got off to a bad start for Luis Enrique’s men. Having made a strong start to the match, the Normans capitalised on a perfectly executed attacking move to score their first first-half goal of the season (1-0, 18th). Josh Maja opened the scoring, but Mika Godts equalised a few minutes later, set up perfectly by Achraf Hakimi (1-1, 26th). Having provided the assist, the Moroccan then turned provider himself, beating Arnaud Bodard with a perfectly placed shot following another devastating run in behind the defence (1-2, 28th). With momentum on their side, the Parisians came close to extending their lead before half-time, but saw Djibril Ouziad (38th) and then Bodard (41st) deny them a third goal in quick succession.
After the break, Hakimi broke through the opposition’s defence with a magnificent direct free-kick to score his second goal (1-3, 55th). In fine form, PSG’s number 2 came very close to a hat-trick (56th), before seeing Maja’s header strike the post of Safonov’s goal (62th), before delivering another assist, this time to Senny Mayulu, who kept his cool to beat Bodard, who had come out to meet him 30 metres from his goal (1-4, 62th). Not content with that, Hakimi pressed on and was duly rewarded, scoring the first hat-trick of his career (1–5, 67th).
With the game under control, Luis Enrique’s men then relied on an imperious Matvey Safonov (83th, 90th+3) to maintain their four-goal lead… and ensure that PSG provisionally moved four points clear at the top of the table.
PSG player ratings
Matvey Safonov – 6
Although powerless to prevent the opening goal, the Russian goalkeeper subsequently proved reliable in stopping Le Havre from scoring a second. Making three decisive saves, Safonov once again stood out with a remarkable performance.
Lucas Digne – 5
Lucas Hernández – 6
Ilya Zabarnyi – 4
The Ukrainian defender, whilst generally solid, was nevertheless caught out of position during the move that led to Le Havre’s opening goal, and was then beaten again by Maja when the chance to make it 2-3 went begging.
Achraf Hakimi – 9
The Man of the Match, without a shadow of a doubt. Involved in each of the five goals scored by PSG against Le Havre, the Moroccan dazzled the crowd at the Stade Océane with his talent. Scoring the first hat-trick of his career, the Parisian full-back caused irreparable damage to the Normandy defence, which was overwhelmed by the sheer number and incisiveness of his runs behind the defence.
Dro Fernández – 6
Warren Zaïre-Emery – 5
Maghnes Akliouche – 5
Senny Mayulu – 7
Mika Godts – 7
Ferran Torres – 6

Arnaud Bodart – 2
Conceding five goals, Le Havre’s goalkeeper had an extremely difficult evening. He was unsure of his positioning for Hakimi’s free-kick, and was again unsure for Mayulu’s goal.
