Former Bayern Munich head coach and current Barcelona boss Hansi Flick was asked about the Ballon d’Or discussion, with Harry Kane having taken home the prestigious individual award ahead of Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.

Flick had no reservations about Kane being the deserving winner, while also making it clear that he believes Yamal has the quality to win the trophy himself in the future.

”Harry Kane deserved to win [the Ballon d’Or]. Lamine is also on the level to win this trophy. I’m very proud of him because he reacted very well. We’ve accepted it and I’m happy it’s over,” Flick said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia)

A classy response from Flick. Kane’s incredible performances and individual achievements made him a worthy winner, while Yamal still has plenty of time to put his own name on the trophy.

And coming from someone who knows Kane well from their time together at Bayern, Flick’s endorsement is another deserved bit of recognition for the Englishman’s extraordinary career.
