The Premier League gameweek 9 fixtures have reached their final two games, with Chelsea having beaten Manchester United 2-0, and Brighton beating Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad. Having brought you predictions for every Premier League game this weekend, we bring you the last two, which are Liverpool vs Arsenal and Newcastle vs Everton.
Premier League GW9: Final Two Fixtures
Liverpool vs Arsenal
In the sole fixture on November 1, Liverpool hosts reigning Premier League champions Arsenal in the 16:00 kick-off.
Liverpool are getting better under Andoni Iraola, with three wins in their last five league games. They have also won all three games in the Champions League so far. Bradley Barcola and Alexander Isak both appear to be striking a dangerous understanding. The Gunners suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brighton before the international break, but have won all three league fixtures since.
In the build-up to the visit of Arsenal, Liverpool boss Iraola was asked whether Víctor Munoz and Dominik Szoboszlai have a chance of being available for Sunday’s game: “I think they have a chance. They have a chance. But I don’t know for sure if they will be involved or not. We still have two days so I think we have a chance, yes,” said Iraola.
When asked about how much this game will tell him about the level of his team, Iraola said: “I think it’s too early to start looking at the standings. I think it’s about preparing ourselves for a very difficult game. We know Arsenal, we know how good they are, very good players, working a lot, working in synchrony, knowing each other very well and we have to be ready for that challenge. I think it’s going to be demanding, the game, but I also trust our players, trust ourselves and in a good atmosphere that for sure we will have on Sunday, I hope we can be at the level to win this game.”
Speaking to the press before his team’s trip to Liverpool, Mikel Arteta was asked whether Noni Madueke was fit:
“We don’t know yet. We’ll have a training session tomorrow, see if he can complete that full session tomorrow and as I said, I will know whether he’s available or not,” said Arteta.
When asked if Madueke was ruled out: “Noni? No,” answered the Gunners boss.
Arteta was also asked whether Bukayo Saka will be back before the international break: “He needed another scan to see how the amount of fluid that was there is resolving, whether the tendon is touched and how badly it is touched. Afterwards we’ll know more about it,” said the Arsenal boss.
Discussing when Saka may be back, Arteta said: “We want to have him [back] as quickly as possible. The player is desperate; he’s feeling much better than he was a few days ago, and we need to wait and see how he evolves.”
“They all trained today, and they will train tomorrow, and if everything is ok, they will be available, said Arteta, regarding the availability of Declan Rice, Riccardo Calafiori, and Christos Tzolis.”

Newcastle vs Everton
In the final Premier League gameweek 9 fixture on November 2 at 20:00 GMT, Newcastle hosts Everton at St James’ Park.
Newcastle have been a real mixed bag this season, but did beat Crystal Palace 2-0 last time out in the league, but were beaten by Everton 3-1 in the Carabao Cup fourth round. Everton sit 14th at the moment, with only one win in their last five league games.
Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle spoke to the media ahead of Monday night’s game, where he confirmed he has “question marks” over Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Lewis Miley’s fitness.
The Newcastle boss also confirmed Anthony Elanga and Jacob Ramsey are making “progress day by day”, but he wouldn’t be drawn on when they would be available.
On Tino Livramento’s rehabilitation progress, Jaissle said: “I can assure you I am seeing every day great professionalism in the rehab. Hopefully, we have him back soon,” Jaissle said regarding the rehabilitation progress of Tino Livramento.
David Moyes spoke after his team’s midweek 3-1 win over Newcastle, where he revealed the latest on the availability of defender Jarrad Branthwaite: “Jarrad should have recovered from his concussion and also the timescale which we had to abide by.”
Moyes was also asked if his squad came through the Carabao Cup win without any more injury worries: “I think so. I know we’re talking about Monday, but you never know until you get them back in the following day [after the game] and see how everybody is – but hopefully things will be okay.”
Prediction: Newcastle 2-0 Everton
