The 20-year-old is spending the 2026-27 campaign on loan with Serie A side Monza.

Kouadio's form for his loan club earned him a first call-up to the Italy senior squad earlier this month.

Roberto Mancini did not use the young defender, but his inclusion in the squad was seen as a huge leap.

Kouadio is under contract with Fiorentina until 2030, having signed a new contract earlier this year.

But he could be on the move as early as January, with Everton one of a number of teams showing an interest.

Where do Everton stand in Eddy Kouadio chase?

Kouadio has only made 10 Serie A appearances - three of those with Fiorentina last season - but his stock is already very high.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Everton have made an enquiry for the defender in recent weeks.

However, the Toffees are not alone in wanting to find out more about the possible terms to sign Kouadio.

Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion and Hull City are also in the race to sign the Italy Under-19s international.

Fiorentina are said to be bracing themselves for offers, which could arrive as early as this January.

What 'historic' rise has Eddy Kouadio been on?

Kouadio is predominantly a centre-back, but he can also play right-back or right-wing back.

That versatility is something David Moyes will be a big fan of.

Kouadio has been on Fiorentina's books for four years now, having previously spent time at provincial sides Galcianese and ASD Tobbiana.

Marco Benesperi, who coached Kouadio at Galcianese, believes the way the youngster has progressed through the ranks is unique.

"It's a journey that will go down in history," he said. "To think that at 15 you are playing in a provincial league and five years later you are in the national team is something truly remarkable."

It may well be that the next step on Kouadio's remarkable journey sees him arrive in the Premier League before too long.

Fingers crossed that is with Everton if the versatile defender really is the real deal.
