FC Barcelona got back to winning ways as they hosted Alaves at the Spotify Camp Nou last night, and [defeated the visitors with a whopping 6-1 scoreline](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/fermin-9-5-yamal-9-0-fc-barcelona-6-1-deportivo-alaves-player-ratings/). Several players stood out for the Catalan team in this match, as both Raphinha and Lamine Yamal scored braces.
Another player who had an excellent game was the attacking midfielder Fermin Lopez, who also scored one goal and provided the assists for both the goals scored by Raphinha.
With this performance, the Spaniard once again showed his impressive skills, which have never really been in doubt since his breakthrough with the Blaugrana first team. He has performed at a high level for the Catalan side, and as a result, his demand in the market has also remained quite high.
In recent days, he has been linked with the Premier League giants Manchester United, who keenly admire the Barcelona midfielder and want him in their team. However, as [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20261101/1004245678/fermin-rechaza-manchester-united.html) has reported, Fermin made it clear that he does not want to leave the Catalan side as he talked to the media after the win against Alaves:
**“I don’t pay attention to this kind of news. I want to stay at Barça for as long as possible, and I hope to end my career at this club.”**
With these statements, the Spanish midfielder once again clearly showed his passion and love for Barcelona, which has never been in doubt. In fact, he showed his emotions for the Blaugrana club during the match as well, as he kissed the badge while celebrating his goal.
With Dani Olmo out with an injury, this is a good opportunity for Fermin Lopez to gain consistent playing time, and convince Hansi Flick to pick him as his starting attacking midfielder going forward. Till now, the German coach has rotated between these two players for this spot, and with the way they have performed, it is easy to understand why it is such a difficult decision to pick one as a regular starter.
