Morgan Rogers is the toast of Chelsea fans on Sunday morning after the England star scored a stunner to break the deadlock against Man United on Saturday – and he spoke to Tore Andro Flo after the win.

Man United arguably edged the first half, with both sides having goals disallowed. But it was Rogers who took the game by the scruff of the neck, showing all why he is a £117m player, scoring a wonder goal.

Romeo Lavia – arguably man of the match – won the ball and fed Rogers. He went past three or four Man United players before chipping Senne Lammens. A truly breathtaking goal, worthy of winning any match.

Rogers shares why Pedro always moans at him in Chelsea training

Speaking to Stadium Astro after the game, former Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo said he was impressed with Rogers’ finish when he first went through on goal. It was his sixth goal of the season for Chelsea.

Flo said, while talking to Rogers: “I saw some stats; chipping is the highest rate of scoring goals when one-on-one. I was thinking about it when you went through there. It was a brilliant finish.”

Manchester United played well, their offense was very smooth, especially with short passes, but their defense had problems.

Estêvão is really playing well, he can play more, he can play in the next game, this guy is great.

Estêvão can hold the pillow and cry for two nights. If he is late for training tomorrow morning, Alonso will forgive him.

Rogers responded to Flo’s praise by sharing how good Pedro is at the chipped finish, with Rogers flicking the ball over Lammens to open the scoring. He says that Pedro always moans at him to finish in this way.

Pedro explained that Pedro was behind it: “Joao Pedro is so good at it. He’s always doing it in training, and he’s always moaning at me to do it. Maybe that was him speaking to me in the back of my mind.”

Tore Andre Flo’s record for Chelsea; Rogers has some way to go

Since his move from Aston Villa, Flo now has six goals and four assists in 12 games for the Blues. A solid record for Chelsea, and if he continues at this rate, he’ll easily surpass Flo’s record in a Chelsea shirt.

Norwegian giant Flo played 163 times for Chelsea, having a hand in 60 goals and assists. Averaging a goal every three games – or slightly over – with 50 in total, Flo also laid on 10 assists for the West London side.

Rogers has some way to go. But if he plays 163 times, at the same rate, he will have scored 82 goals for the Blues and laid on 54 assists. A total of 136 goal involvements, which highlights his amazing start.

Indeed, Rogers is already proving he is Chelsea’s next Eden Hazard, producing similar numbers to the Belgian icon. If it seemed expensive to some in the summer, Rogers’ £117m fee is starting to make sense.
