David Moyes doesn’t often get the credit he deserves at Everton, but he might be about to get recognition for his strong job by the club.
Things have been going well at Everton this season, with just two defeats all season. Thursday saw Everton beat Newcastle to bounce back from those defeats, and it hammered home the point that David Moyes deserves his flowers for the campaign he has been bringing to Everton.
Seamus Coleman has hailed Moyes for the job he is doing without really being backed by the club in the transfer window. However, speculation over his future remains loud, with Celtic linked to Moyes a few weeks ago. But now this could all be about to stop.
Everton reach the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup! How confident are you that we can win it? The Toffees will face Fleetwood in the next round 👀

David Moyes rumoured to be in for new contract at Everton
Everton’s 3-1 win over Newcastle was a statement performance that might act as a catalyst to kick on and start notching up wins in the Premier League.
After the result, Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour were reacting on talkSPORT, and Brazil made an interesting claim about the immediate future of Moyes at Everton.
“What a result for Everton. Listen, it’s hearsay, but I think David’s about to sign a new contract. A good contract, three years, I think”, he claimed.
Now, it is worth taking with a pinch of salt as Brazil isn’t always correct. But he also isn’t the sort to make things up, and so there must be some smoke to the story, and it could mean a new contract for Moyes is in the offing.
Reacting to the claim, Parlour explained how impressed he’s been with the Scotsman. “He deserves it, what he’s done with the resources he’s had. He’s done a brilliant job at Everton, and I think it’s a great club to buy.”
The last comment is in relation to The Friedkin Group putting Everton up for sale, with Moyes the only thing that could offer some stability to the club ahead of another potential period of change in the coming months.
Fans won’t be enthralled by Moyes getting a new deal, but he has done so well to stabilise Everton from the relegation candidates when he arrived. There is disappointment after any failure to win, and a European push looks on the cards.
