Alexis Mac Allister showed as much heart as any Liverpool player in their 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal, battling and pushing the team on.
The Reds were narrowly beaten by the Gunners at Anfield, with Kai Havertz’s goal damaging the hosts’ outside Premier League title hopes.
Here we compare our player ratings with those of the Liverpool Echo, BBC Sport and TIA’s readers.
Mac Allister (7.35) may have produced one embarrassing piece of theatrics, but he impressed for Liverpool and got the highest average rating.
The Reds’ No. 10 never stopped trying to be a difference-maker, with Ian Doyle of the Echo describing him as “easily” his team’s best player.
Mac Allister was “constantly involved,” according to BBC Sport’s Aadam Patel, who did bemoan him missing one gilt-edged chance, though.

Jeremy Jacquet (7.05) was again good for Liverpool, and the only other Reds player to average more than a seven-out-of-10 score.
In This Is Anfield‘s ratings, James Nalton even said the Frenchman was “arguably the standout” centre-back in a game littered with elite ones.
Alisson (5.15) was the most disappointing Liverpool performer, proving to be at fault for Havertz’s goal with a wayward pass.
What the stats say: 100% aerial duel success rate for Van Dijk
Virgil van Dijk (7.5) got the top score from FotMob, as the captain produced a strong showing.
The Dutchman won all eight of his aerial duels – the most by anyone on the pitch – and made five clearances, which was the second-most for Liverpool behind Ronald Araujo (8).
Florian Wirtz only won three out of 11 ground duels, however, with the 23-year-old’s influence waning after a bright start.
Bradley Barcola had 14 touches inside the opposition penalty area, which was twice more than anyone on either team, but he didn’t create enough in that area.
