Piero Hincapie couldn't resist hitting back at Liverpool star with three-word post after…

Arsenal got the better of Liverpool in a controversial Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners went into the match having won seven of their opening eight matches and looking to go three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.

Liverpool, meanwhile, were positioned in fifth going into the match, and were searching for a win to go three points behind Arsenal and City.

It was Arsenal who picked up all three points as they emerged 1-0 victors in Merseyside. Kai Havertz's 16th minute opener proved to be the difference between the two sides as the reigning Premier League champions picked up all three points.

Liverpool were incensed with a number of decisions that went against them, though, with Andoni Iraola left incensed that his side were not awarded at least one penalty during the match.

Piero Hincapié made his first Premier League appearance in three weeks at Anfield, coming on as a late substitute. The 24-year-old was sent on to help his side over the finish line, and he did his job as Arsenal kept Iraola's side at bay to take all three points.

Despite playing a minor role in his side's victory, Hincapie couldn't resist taking to social media after the match to take an apparent dig at Virgil van Dijk.

In January 2026, following Arsenal and Liverpool's goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium, Van Dijk posted an image of the golden Premier League logo on his sleeve, which is worn by the defending champions.

Hincapie decided to get his own back after Arsenal's victory at Anfield on Sunday. The Ecuadorian posted numerous photos, including the golden Premier League logo on his sleeve, alongside the caption: 'I don't forget.'

Hincapie's post has gone down very well with Arsenal fans. "We have a team of PETTY players! And I ABSOLUTELY love it," one wrote, while a second commented: "I love the fact that our players also keep receipts."

A third wrote: "Piero… you legend." A fourth said: "Proper clap back!" A fifth stated: "I love that they remember to get their own back."

Mikel Arteta Praises Players After Victory vs Liverpool

Mikel Arteta, considered one of the best managers in world football, was very complimentary of his players after Arsenal won their first match at Anfield since 2012. He said, per Arsenal's official website:

“So happy, so proud, full of energy. What can I say - it’s a proud moment for everybody attached with the football club. It’s been 14 years waiting for this moment, and we did it in very special circumstances after the defeat against Fleetwood in a way we didn’t deserve four days ago.

"And now having to come to Anfield, making sure everybody is convinced, prepared and ready to navigate a football match, that is going to have very difficult moments, some big opportunities and when they come, you need to be ready to grab them. What the boys have done is remarkable.”

He added: "First of all, the quality in the top moments that you have to deliver to score the goals, to generate six, seven big chances like we’ve done.

“Then the resilience to go again, and again, again, against a team that can turn games into a very chaotic moment, with a lot of space, runners, a lot of fight, unbelievable with second balls, and they’re extremely good at that. To maintain the focus and the ability to consistently do that well throughout the game, it’s something that’s not easy at all to do.”

Arsenal are back in action on Wednesday when they face AC Sparta Praha in the Champions League. Their next Premier League match is against Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 7.
