Like the entire FC Barcelona team, the midfielder [Fermin Lopez was also back at his best](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/fermin-9-5-yamal-9-0-fc-barcelona-6-1-deportivo-alaves-player-ratings/) as the Blaugrana side hosted Alaves at the Spotify Camp Nou for their matchday 11 game of this La Liga campaign. The Spaniard scored one goal in this game and provided two assists, both of which were scored by Raphinha.
After winning the Man of the Match award for this game, the midfielder also talked to the media. As [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20261031/1004245575/fermin-mvp-hemos-reencontrado.html) has reported, Fermin was full of praise for his team for having reacted so well after the harsh defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid:
**“It was a difficult week for us. We were unable to win two very high-level, demanding matches, which many people saw as a test, even though it is only October. I don’t think there could have been a better way or a better setting to turn things around than at the Camp Nou, with our fans behind us.”**
The Spanish midfielder was clear that his team needs to continue playing like this going forward:
**“We played a good match, we have rediscovered our rhythm, and we managed to recover our identity and our true level. Now we must continue playing this way.”**
The Barcelona star also highlighted one key aspect that opened up the game:
**“We knew they would set up in a low block and close down many of the passing lanes through the middle. But we scored early, and I think that opened the game up a little more and helped us.”**
Fermin was happy to have created two goals in this match:
**“We have to remain happy about helping the team with assists.”**
The Spaniard revealed what Flick told him about his playing time:
**“Flick told me, although he knew I was exhausted, that he was going to bring De Jong off and that I should hold on a little longer and stay calmer.”**
The Barcelona midfielder was full of praise for Lamine Yamal and Raphinha:
**“For us, it is incredible. They help us enormously. Lamine and Raphinha make the difference. They are two very important players for us, and with them we will surely achieve great things.”**
As he showed in the game against Alaves, Fermin Lopez can prove to be decisive in any game. Hopefully, he will continue playing at this level going forward as well and help Barcelona win their upcoming difficult matches.
