Arsenal get huge Saliba boost as he's 'absolutely smashed his recovery milestones', return…

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba has reportedly returned to the Gunners’ first-team training in a huge boost for Mikel Arteta.

The Emirates Stadium club have been without the France international since the beginning of the season following an injury at the World Cup.

Saliba has been doing individual training since last month, but the Arsenal star has now been training with the rest of his teammates and has smashed his recovery milestones.

However, the North London club will not rush the Frenchman back into action and will be very cautious as Arteta looks to ease him back into the team.

Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhaes have been rock-solid at the back for the Gunners this season, and the centre-back duo put in another defensive masterclass against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Nevertheless, having Saliba available for selection will be good news for Arteta as Arsenal looks to challenge effectively across all competitions.

The Gunners have quality squad depth in defence, and starting their title defence on an impressive note without the Frenchman is astounding.

They are now top of the Premier League table following eight wins and one defeat in their opening nine games of 2026-27.

Arsenal have lost just twice and drawn once in 15 games across all competitions so far this term.

They are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to take on Slavia Prague in the Champions League before hosting Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday ahead of the international break.
